Tiger

Scientific Name: Panthera tigris
There are five subspecies or kind of tigers and all are endangered. White tigers usually belong to the subspecies of Bengal tigers.

Habitat: Tigers are native to Southeast Asia including India and Indonesia, and live in grasslands, swampy areas, and rain forests.

Food: In the wild, tigers eat deer, wild pigs, and wild cattle. At the Zoo, we feed tigers a commercial feline diet of ground meat with vitamins and minerals, and sometimes fish and bones.

Facts: Tigers are the largest members of the cat family, and the Siberian tiger is the largest cat in the world. It may weigh more than 650 pounds and can measure 13 feet from nose to tail tip.
